Our story

FlowRight Plumbing is a family story. Roberto Sanchez grew up handing pipe wrenches to his father Ernesto, who ran a small plumbing shop out of Logan Square for three decades. Those years in the back of his dad's work van taught Roberto something no trade school could — that people remember how you treated them long after they forget what you charged them. After earning his Journeyman license in 2004 and his Illinois Master Plumber certification in 2010, Roberto opened FlowRight with a single rule borrowed from his dad: never charge a customer for work they do not need.

That rule cost him a few upsells early on, but it built something more valuable — trust. Word spread through Lincoln Park, then Lakeview, then across the North Side. By year three he had hired James Patterson for sewer and drain work, and by year five the company was running three fully stocked service trucks. James brought deep knowledge of Chicago's aging infrastructure — the clay tile sewer lines, the cast iron stacks, the quirks of century-old bungalow plumbing that newer plumbers do not know how to handle. When neighbors started calling Roberto "the honest plumber," he put it on the trucks. It stuck because it was true.

Today FlowRight employs a team of licensed plumbers who live by the same code Ernesto taught Roberto in that Logan Square shop. We still answer the phone ourselves at 2 AM in January when a pipe freezes, still show up in clean uniforms, and still hand you a written flat-rate price before we touch a wrench. Over 2,500 Chicago families trust us with their plumbing — and most of them found us through a neighbor's recommendation. Ernesto would be proud.
