Our story

Your Roof. Our Reputation. Built to Last.

Summit Roofing started in 2007 when Francisco Rodriguez — a roofer who learned his trade in the DFW suburbs — decided Dallas deserved a roofing company that would still be here after the storm passed. He had watched fly-by-night crews roll into town after every spring hailstorm, collect insurance checks, and disappear before the first leak appeared at the next heavy rain. He swore Summit would be different: local, accountable, and built on craftsmanship designed to outlast the next severe thunderstorm and the one after it.

Seventeen years later, Summit has replaced or repaired over 3,800 roofs across Dallas, Collin, Denton, and Tarrant counties. Our team includes Jennifer Cole, a former insurance carrier adjuster who has recovered more than $28 million for Summit customers since 2018. Thomas Wright, our lead inspector, holds an FAA Part 107 drone license and thermal imaging credentials — he has caught hidden deck rot and ice-dam intrusion that a ladder and binoculars would have missed entirely. Marcus Webb leads metal and commercial roofing with Metal Roofing Alliance certification and 600,000 square feet of standing seam installed. We are a GAF Master Elite Contractor — a designation held by only 3% of roofing companies nationwide — which means the warranty coverage we offer is not available from standard contractors.

North Texas produces some of the most destructive hailstorms in the United States. We are not storm chasers from out of state. Our trucks are parked in the same DFW neighborhoods we roof, our crews live in Plano and Garland and Lakewood, and Francisco walks every finished roof himself before we close a job. When the next cell rolls through at midnight, you will not be searching for our number — because we already answered it.

01 / What we stand for

What we stand behind

Storm-Grade Craftsmanship

Every roof we install meets or exceeds Texas Department of Insurance wind and hail construction requirements. We never cut corners on underlayment, decking attachment, or flashing detail — the parts adjusters never see until there is a claim.

Transparent Line-Item Pricing

You receive a written scope with material quantities, unit prices, and labor breakdowns before we touch a single shingle. The estimate is the price. No change orders after the fact, no vague lump-sum bids.

Drone-Photo Documentation

Every inspection — routine or storm — includes a full drone pass with annotated photos. You receive the file. For insurance claims, this documentation is the difference between an approved supplement and a denied one.

DFW Roots, DFW Accountability

We live in the neighborhoods we roof. Summit is not a franchise and not a storm-chasing outfit from another state. We have been a licensed Texas contractor since 2007 and our reputation is staked on every job we put our name on.

Code-Compliant Installation

Every project is permitted, inspected, and installed to current IRC and Texas building codes. We pull our own permits, attend the city inspection, and hand you the final sign-off paperwork — documentation that matters at resale.

FR

Francisco Rodriguez

Master Roofer & CEO

TX License #RC-0034, GAF Master Elite, 17 yrs

Francisco started roofing in the DFW suburbs at 16 and built Summit from the ground up after watching too many Dallas homeowners get shortchanged by storm-chasing contractors after spring hailstorms. He holds GAF Master Elite certification and personally walks every completed roof before it is signed off. He has inspected over 3,800 roofs in 17 years and can read a hail strike pattern from the ground.

TW

Thomas Wright

Lead Inspector & Drone Operator

NRCA Certified, FAA Part 107, Thermal Imaging, 14 yrs

Thomas has inspected more than 2,200 roofs across Collin, Dallas, and Denton counties and holds an FAA Part 107 commercial drone license. His thermal imaging and moisture detection work has caught hidden deck rot and ice-dam damage that standard visual inspection would have missed — saving homeowners from discovering the problem through a bedroom ceiling. He trains every new Summit inspector.

JC

Jennifer Cole

Insurance Claims Director

Former Carrier Adjuster, 8 yrs carrier-side experience

Jennifer spent eight years on the other side of the desk — evaluating storm claims for a major Texas carrier — before joining Summit. She knows exactly how hail damage is measured, what supplements adjusters approve, and where claims get short-paid. Since 2018 she has recovered more than $28 million for Summit customers who would otherwise have been underpaid.

MW

Marcus Webb

Commercial & Metal Roofing Lead

Metal Roofing Alliance Certified, OSHA 30-Hour, 10 yrs

Marcus manages every metal standing seam and commercial flat-roof project from fabrication through final inspection. He is certified through the Metal Roofing Alliance and has installed over 600,000 square feet of standing seam across the Metroplex. His crews handle the complex geometry of Dallas residential architecture — hips, valleys, dormers — that trips up less experienced metal installers.

No pressure. No upsell. Just fixed.

The next hailstorm is not a matter of if.

Free inspection — drone photos, written report, no obligation
