Our story

One Call. Whole List. Nashville, TN.

RedOak Handyman started because Marcus Webb got tired of watching Nashville homeowners choose between two bad options: hiring a full general contractor for a $200 repair, or spending the whole weekend on YouTube and still ending up with a visible patch. There was a gap — skilled, licensed craftwork for the jobs that are too small for a contractor but too important to botch — and nobody was filling it with any reliability.

Marcus spent his first decade doing residential remodels across Nashville's East Side neighborhoods: the brick bungalows in Lockeland Springs, the craftsman row houses in Greenwood, the flipped Victorians in Cleveland Park. He learned the city's housing stock intimately — the way 1940s plaster cracks differently from modern drywall, the way Nashville humidity moves wood in a predictable cycle if you know how to read it, the wall types that hide in new-construction behind tile. When he opened RedOak in 2012 on Gallatin Ave, he built the business around one idea borrowed from manufacturing: the batch model. Instead of billing per item and incentivizing customers to under-report their lists, he would charge for time blocks and let clients read off everything at once.

The punch-list model turned out to be what thousands of Nashville homeowners had been waiting for without knowing the name. By year three, RedOak was fully booked on referrals. Deja came aboard for her texture-matching ability. Jordan brought exterior and carpentry depth. Priya built the scheduling system that makes same-week slots possible without chaos. Today the team has cleared more than 3,200 lists across Nashville and its suburbs — one block at a time, one invoice, the whole list done.

01 / What we stand for

How we work

The Punch-List Model

Per-item pricing makes customers under-report their lists. We charge for time blocks so you tell us everything at once, get more done per dollar, and stop accumulating deferred maintenance.

Materials at Cost

We bill consumables and materials at our actual invoice price, with the receipt attached. No markup, no mystery line items. The block rate is the rate — everything else is transparent.

Craftwork That Holds

A drywall patch should be invisible. A door fix should work through the full Tennessee humidity swing. A TV mount should never come down. We do the job right or we come back.

Licensed & Insured

Every job covered by general liability and workmanship guarantee. We stay on the right side of the licensed-trade line — electrical, gas, and structural jobs get the right specialist, every time.

Nashville Roots

We live and work in the neighborhoods we serve — East Nashville, Germantown, 12South. We know the housing stock, the humidity patterns, and the wall types. That local knowledge shows up in the work.

02 / The craftspeople

Small team. Deep skill. Nashville-rooted.

MW

Marcus Webb

Owner & Lead Craftsman

TN General Contractor background, 14 yrs · Licensed & Insured #HM-5519

Marcus grew up in a house where nothing got hired out — his grandfather built the back addition by hand in the 1970s and passed on the view that most home repairs are just patience and the right bit. After years doing residential remodels across Nashville, he started RedOak specifically for the punch-list gap: skilled work, small jobs, nobody wants to schedule a contractor for them. He lives in East Nashville and knows the housing stock here — the 1940s bungalows, the flipped craftsmans, the new construction that already needs its squeaks fixed.

DH

Deja Holloway

Senior Craftsperson

Residential Remodel background, 9 yrs · OSHA 10

Deja handles the majority of RedOak's full-day blocks and pre-sale punch lists. She has a particular eye for texture matching — the skill that separates a visible drywall patch from one that disappears under paint — and has rescued more than a few botched DIY repairs in 12South and the Gulch. Nashville homeowners frequently mention her by name for the quality of her finish work.

JT

Jordan Tate

Craftsperson — Exterior & Carpentry

Finish Carpentry background, 7 yrs

Jordan focuses on exterior projects and carpentry: fence repairs, deck board replacement, door hanging, and trim work. He grew up in Donelson and understands how Nashville summers punish wood — he keeps a moisture meter in the truck and won't hang a door without knowing the current humidity, because it matters which side you take off.

PN

Priya Nair

Office Manager & Scheduler

Project Coordination background, 6 yrs

Priya manages the schedule, quotes, and follow-up for every RedOak booking. She's the reason a punch list submitted on Monday shows up with parts staged on Thursday morning. Nashville homeowners frequently note in reviews that she actually read the list before the visit — a detail that sounds basic and apparently isn't everywhere.

No pressure. No upsell. Just fixed.
