At McKinsey, he led engagements for billion-dollar enterprises but kept meeting CEOs of $50M-$300M companies who needed the same caliber of strategic thinking and could not get a top firm to return their call. The gap was obvious, and nobody was filling it.
Apex was built to close that gap. Robert recruited senior practitioners — not recent MBA graduates — who had run businesses, built products, shipped software, and made the same decisions their clients were facing.
